Say What?

The Philippines may well be considered as one of the largest (if not the largest) English-speaking countries in Asia. Having English as one of our two official languages, it is not surprising that even if we compete in international competitions like pageants, we do not ask for the assistance of interpreters.

But I think, people are having this over generalization that all of us Filipinos are that ‘well-verse’ when it comes to speaking in English.

For some time now, I have thought of taking pictures of rather disturbing grammatical errors. I planned to make a book about it. But a Humanities project came and there was this topic which was about ‘Art is Beauty’. And I thought ‘These signs came from all sorts of places, and they were signs used for people, but they had this twist of being grammatically incorrect.’
